Jim Queen
A satire on identity, fame, and queer culture.
A gay influencer's life crumbles when a virus turns Paris's gay men straight. He teams up with a twink to find a rumored cure in the Marais district.
ELLE "An adoring celebration of queer culture and a spoofy critique of internet fame, Jim Queen is strictly for grown-ups who don’t need polite jokes to laugh with and at its lovable characters. It’s a riot."
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
The sexy splatter sensation that's been winning hearts and minds
After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director (Hannah Einbinder, Hacks) for resurrection.
But when she visits the original movie's star (Gillian Anderson), a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.
Maspalomas
An ode to hope and self-acceptance
Vicente, now 76 years old, came out of the closet and left his wife and daughter when he was 50.
He has spent the last 25 years living happily with his partner in Maspalomas (Gran Canaria). However, everything is turned upside down when Vicente suffers a stroke that leaves him in a coma. When he wakes up, he is faced with an unexpected reality: he has been moved back to Donostia, and his daughter has placed him in a nursing home. Vicente decides not to offer any explanation about his sexual orientation.
At first, he doesn't think it's necessary. And so, almost without realizing it, Vicente returns to where he started--he goes back into the closet, renouncing everything he worked so hard to achieve.
Des Preuves d'Amour
Touching portrait of queer motherhood with a unique perspective
In three months, Céline's wife Nadia will give birth to their daughter. To be a lawful mother, Céline must adopt her baby to be recognised by French law as the child’s mother.
To this end, she must gather 15 letters from family and friends who will testify that she will be a good mother to her daughter.
Des Preuves d'amour is a touching portrait of queer motherhood and the barriers it faces, intriguingly told from the perspective of the non-pregnant woman in the final trimester of pregnancy.
De Trut: 10 portretten
Unique document of Amsterdam's most famous queer club night
This documentary charts the rise and rise of the legendary club night De Trut, a mainstay of the Amsterdam club night since 1985. Through 10 uniquely personal portraits, director Pim Mookhoek paints a vivid picture of the community that has kept De Trut going for four decades and counting. The stories detail how volunteers have maintained De Trut's cult status and its vital importance to the community and to themselves — without ever giving in to commercial or profit-based motives.
From De Trut's role during the AIDS epidemic, to its current status as an inclusive and safe dancefloor in a rapidly changing society: this film tells the story of a Sunday club night that grew into a lasting cultural and activist icon.
